Occasional spikes in HD activity and slowdowns since W10 upgrade?

    You don't have a driver for the "Other devices > Unknown device"

    Open device manager, right click on the "Other devices > Unknown device", select properties, Details tab - Hardware ID-
    select first Value line, Right click - copy
    Paste it here

    Additionally to the above have you tried, my suggestion re Avast
    It has something of a reputation for slow down on 10
    Not that this is limited to Avast.
    It applies to many other third party AV apps

    1. The cause MAYBE Avast
    I suggest you try as a first step uninstalling it and use the included Windows Security centre

    This tip alone solved most of my problems. Holding onto the other ideas as needed. Many thanks.
