    MSVCP140.dll Is Missing (Solved)

After a restart, Plex Media Server would not run, giving an error that MSVCP140.dll is missing. A search found this on MS, http://vc_redist.x64.exe . One `minor' problem, it will not run as MSCVP140.dll is missing.

Started further searching, which led me to a site that said to use Control Panel Programs and Features to remove Microsoft Visual C++ [xxx]. After counting eleven versions of that on my computer, it was time to ask the experts who, having nothing better to do, freely provide excellent advise.

People who meet that description are known to be found here, so once again, I am asking for some advice that is more helpful than that I found through on-line searches, to fix the problem so that I can fix Plex Media Server, which is where I started and where I found that the error message to restart the computer might fix the problem; it did not, obviously.

Thank you for the prompt reply, and for keeping me fascinated as I ran the batch file; I've never see anything of this nature. Thanks are also due to whomever put this together.

The task manager shows all sorts of parts of Plex running, but neither the Control Panel nor AShampoo Uninstall have an entry for Plex. I used AShampoo Uinstall to run the installer that I had downloaded earlier and which led to the problems that you so nicely solved. The install process was incredibly fast, leaving me to wonder what took place, but switching from Install to Applications showed that Plex Media Server is installed, as does Control Panel. Evidently, my installed copy of Plex was just waiting for a new copy of MSVCP140.dll to start running again.

It is not often that a Windows problem gets solved so quickly; all it took was what I was rather certain would take place, and it did in the person of "Ghot;2285024".

We've all had these weird Visual C++ issues. A lot of the older Visual C++ versions are no longer readily available at MS.
Fortunately, someone put this together, and it seems to help a LOT of folks.
If you look in Programs and Features, you'll see you now have all the Visual C++ runtimes.

    Good job.
