Laptop Boots Slow After Windows Update

    Hello,
I have had this problem before where after a Windows update my laptop (HP Pavilion dm4-2070us-Win 10 Pro-Version 10.0.19042) takes several minutes to boot up. Last time, it would take about 7 minutes to boot, this time it is not that long (4 minutes). I had to create a new profile last time to take care of this. I just wanted to put this out there to see if anything can be done before I have to do that. I noticed that after Windows updates on July 7th my boot performance suffered. If anyone has had this happen to them, and remedied it, please let me know how you handled your situation. Also, let me know what further details I can provide.
    Thank you

Hi, diagnosing slow boots is usually done by using the Windows Performance Analyser and Recorder, free from MS, a technical tool that presents events graphically. Most members here are not very conversant with it.

Example threads, settings for the tool and screenshots available if you search tenforums.

I've not seen this as being a common issue.

I assume from the time you're using a HDD rather than a SSD.

Noted your laptop appears to be from 2012, so no guarantees on Win 10 compatibility with ongoing upgrades of Win 10.

    Windows Performance Analyser and Recorder

Yes it is an older laptop. I was just to understand this problem. Are you saying I could find more information on this tool if I do a general search in Windows Ten Forum? Thank you for your response and letting me know that this is not a common issue.

Booting from m.2 drive is much slower than it should be

To not shoot in the dark, you should run the boot trace so we can analyze it.

    Boot Trace

So I should get and run the Windows Performance Analyzer and then run the Boot Trace which is part of that? Thanks for the information.

That indeed is the idea.. the tool won't run or do anything for you otherwise... have a look through those threads and you will see some suggested settings for the tool.

Note the log can be large, so zip it and provide a link. Note that only 1 or 2 members here are very familiar with this tool.

Also please complete your specs including details of make and type of disk(s).
Tutorials available (search for specifications) if needed).

Click My Computers below my post for comparison.

Also a URL for your PC's driver download page

Please confirm your BIOS is current.

    Systems Info and WPA

I ran your Systemsinfo.exe and updated my sys specs as much as possible. I will run the WPA today and upload a zipped file with the results after running the Windows Performance Recorder.
