How to prevent applications showing up partially off-screen at launch?

Up front: sorry! Likely this may have been asked over and over. However, I vainly searched for a solution.
Hopefully someone can point me to the correct solution.

    Issue:
Usually it is the bottom area (i.e. the status bar) of about 10-15mm, so I need to move the window panel a little bit upwards to make it all visible again.
Sometimes, specifically with Office applications, this may not be easy: the title bar is so crowded there is hardly any free space to grab it without anything happening.

I wonder whether there is a fix to always have applications show up within the visible area and above the taskbar at -initial launch-, i.e. when it has to move away to make other window panels visible, then this should be done by the user by moving around that window panel.

    Thanks!

p.s. I know about shift-dragging a window panel, but one way or the other Windows doesn't seem to remember the 'last position', so I am seeking for some kind of default setting.

You mention "shift-dragging" but there is no need to use the 'Shift' key to drag a window. Just drag the window by holding down the lef-hand mouse button whilst moving the window. Maybe using the 'Shift' key is causing the problem?

You are right, it is just dragging. I just use drag. Ignore what I wrote about shift dragging. Was confused.

Are all the drivers up-to-date? Especially graphics drivers.

Also has it just started to happen? If so then think what you may have done immediately before it started to happen that might have caused it.

If you can identify when it started then look for a restore point dated before that date. First of all save anything you created after that point.

Let's 'soft-pedal' on this, I need to check this further: vainly tried to reproduce it by opening a number of Excel and Word instances, but they all opened within the visible area... whereas on other occasions they regularly open partly off-screen.
Beats me. Often I have a number of Excel workbooks open and maybe I dragged some of them away so as to the other, or have them side by side. Then when relaunching Excel, it may remember the last position being off screen. Anyway, I need to check this...
    Thanks for commenting!
