My Gaming Laptop battery is non removeable, so i use mine the following way, somedays when i know i'm gonna game on it, then AC powered, and days i don't plan on Gaming, Battery for a while like watching a little youtube, email, web browsing.
Try to vary the usage of it, so not to harm the battery at all--been doing that since 2017, and HP battery test still shows no problems
Thanks for the replies and I shall just run on battery from time to time then just to be on the safe side as the repacement battery for this machine is or would be quite expensive.
My HP Probook has a BIOS option to limit battery charging to 80% to preserve battery life. Check to see if you have a similar setting.
Icit2Lol or, if it's not being overfamiliar, Icit,
I must have been distracted by something whilst writing my earlier post and left out an interesting link.
Dell Tech Support produced this short video about batteries & charging. Whilst they were addressing Dell customers, Dell never makes any claims about possessing unique battery technology so their statements can be regarded as being fairly generally applicable.
Facts about your Laptop Battery - Dell Community
I thought the most interesting facts were:-
- That leaving the computer plugged in after the battery was fully charged has no detrimental effect on battery run-time or overall battery life
- Charging the battery to 100% whenever possible has no detrimental effect on overall battery life
- Charging the battery to 100% even if it has only been partially used [as opposed to always using every drop it has left in it before charging] has no detrimental effect on overall battery life

Hiyya Denis that was really useful and has reinforced what I thought what was the probability with leaving the machine always being plugged in because I very rarely take it out as we are in lockdown anyway and I spend a lot of time at home.
