I'm looking for a good tune-up utility, is Wise Care 365 Pro any good or Glary Utilities Pro, or maybe any other recommendations?
I prefer it not to be free as I think free stuff comes with questions, why would anyone give free stuff and not get anything in return.
More specifically, are you concerned about any specific aspects of your PC's performance? If so, which?
More damage than good is done by e.g.
- registry cleaners (no benefit, lots of risk)
- 3rd party driver updaters ((no benefit, lots of risk)
There is a case for managing free space on your system partition, first ensuring you are using Windows' built-in tools (tutorials available), then choosing a selective clean-up regime.
What I wouldn't do is simply run various utilities promising much in the hope of somehow doubling your PCs speed and responsiveness.
I've been using aShampoo WinOptimizer for many years but looking for something simalar.
I've also been using this to clean up some more space.
Open administrative command prompt (ACP) and type or copy and paste:
Code:cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 & Cleanmgr /sagerun:65535
I don't like 3rd party tune up utility app. I like 3rd party cleanup app CCleaner and BleachBit
I have to admit, I simply love Glary Utilities Pro. For a number of reasons:
1. Software update notifications
2. Registry and various disk cleaning tools
3. One click maintenance which can be scheduled
4. Encryption capabilities for security of files
5. Privacy file eraser and shredder
6. Restore files option
Plus a number of system control features such easy as context menu changer, startup manager and even a driver update (which I admit I don't use). It's a great all round program I've been using for over 3 years and would recommended it too anyone. I wish it had a lifetime license, but it's reasonably priced at $19.99US (Currently 50% off) for 3 PCs.
