O&O ShutUp10 1.8.1421 safe and clean to install?

    Hello,

    Windows 10 Home 21H1 B19043.1055
    O&O ShutUp10 1.8.142

    Sha256: bcdc6b364da6986d50dd025aacc3c0c76ada16657b829406cee67b4e6f16b89a

I scan @VT OOSU10.exe and there is a lot of detection and rule set that does not look good for me
is the OOSU10.exe or the portable safe and clean to run?
    Thanks
    Camelia

    Hello @camelia,

O&O ShutUp 10 seems to be a popular topic at the moment => Shut Up 10 Problem or Windows Problem?

As far as I know, the Portable Version is OK.

    I hope this helps.

That other post is about a specific issue. Your question is different... so I suggest keeping the posts separate to avoid confusion.

Also, I'm unable to duplicate your VirusTotal screenshot. I downloaded the O&O ShutUp10 v1.8.1421 executable (OOSU10.exe) and submitted it to VirusTotal with the following result:

PS - ShutUp10 is only available as a portable version. There is no installer version available.

    Hope this helps...

First you need to sign-in or have a VT account
Next you upload again the file
Then you will see the same as my screenshot

I was expecting a .zip file not an .exe file, that is why I thought other installer was available

Run OOSU10.exe no issues, but I don not trust because the alerts @VT

    @camelia

The report just matches the types of changes it makes to your system to potentially unwanted ones in their databases.

Having said that - I don't use the app myself. It's designed for users to quickly make/ revert changes without having to dig into the system.

As far as I'm concerned it's safe. Not malware or spyware. However it disables things that Microsoft would prefer that you kept enabled.
