    maintenance Windows 21H1 19043.1055

I have a SSD in my PC with an Asus Board. It was made for me.
I have 3 questions; 1-when I type optimize in search should that be on or off? I have read so may different opinions.
2- running %temp% is safe to delete I believe.
But what about running temp when it says I have no right to access the folder? Should I just avoid it?
3-I usually run disc cleanup then 'clean up system files' -ok?
I have storage sense off -is that ok if I do as I said above or leave it on?

    Hi.
    1) I guess you mean optimization for gaming. Leave it on.
    2) Delete eveything and ignore the messages.
    3) Leave it on.

A slight modification on #2, delete the files in that folder but leave the folder in place, programs usually need it for their install and other use. Some files can't be deleted with messages such as they are still in use.

    Appreciate that Berton.
    Short story long;
1- If you search optimize you get a box to optimize drives. Now that I have an SSD I set it at weekly and let trim do its thing. It is enabled.
2-there are two folders containing temp files - one is found running %temp% and the other just temp.
I now use just storage sense and do not bother cleaning files otherwise.
3-Instead of disc cleanup and clean up system files I let storage sense run.
It seems these new features are replacing the old ways of doing things.
Is it true Windows may replace th Control panel?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

#2 I have 4 Temp folders, the default ones and one I created on the C: drive [C:\Temp] to give quicker access for temporary storage when doing file management. The defaults are listed in UserName\AppData [2, Local and Local Roaming] and 1 in Windows itself.

I know you are quite skilled ;your reply while skilled, is above my level.
Do I have any change to be made in post 5 or is it all right as it is?

If the computer is otherwise working fine there's no pressing need to change anything also some users are more intent on cleaning things than others are. The time I'd start cleaning is when running out of storage room such as with Windows Version Upgrades and succeeding Build updates or with programs not having room for what they need but there usually are messages about that.
