You can generate a batter usage report to compare your current "Full Charge Capacity" with the "Design Capacity" to see if the battery is still able to use most of its "Design Capacity".

Generate Battery Usage Report in Windows 10

If the "Full Charge Capacity" is a lot lower than the "Design Capacity", then it may be time to replace the battery. When this happens, you will usually notice your battery not lasting long while using it.

If the battery is showing any signs of swelling, it needs to be changed ASP.

If the laptop is still under warranty, then the battery may be covered as well.

If not, then it's your cost to change the battery. If you are familiar with working on laptops, it's not too hard to remove the back cover and replace the battery. It helps to find a video showing how to do so for your specific model number.
