Change Text Scale via command line or other routine/program?

    Hello,

I’m looking for a way to change the “display resolution” and “size of text, apps, and other items” from a command line batch file or some other one-click routine.

I found an old/small program called QRes.exe that changes the resolution which is great (qres.exe /x:2048 /y:1152). However, it does not affect the text size. I currently want to adjust the text scale from 200% to 150%; then later run a second routine to return the scale to 200%.

Does anyone know of a command line or some other “free” program that will adjust the text? I’m running Win10-Home.

    Thanks,
    Steve K.

It is NOT going to be as straight forward as you first think, but this should get you started!

Depending on what exactly you want to change, and to what extent, there are quite a few areas within Win 10 that can be changed. This Tutorial will get you started, but also pay special attention to the Related Tutorials at the bottom of the Tutorial as they will take you to further changes that can be applied . . .

The majority of them are REG files which you simply click and then Merge. You can of course, adapt these to run in a CMD Prompt as a list if you wanted.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Paul for your response. I might be missing something here but I don’t think this quite what I’m looking for. I am aware how to change the scale manually but I’d like some routine (batch file, powershell, etc.) that does it and without having to sign out and back in. Maybe this is just not possible.

Again, thanks for your concern – much appreciated,
    Steve
