Slower Windows boot a few weeks after system upgrade
This isn't a massive problem as such, but I suppose it does fit in under "performance" and it's a little bit of an annoyance and I wondered if anyone has any suggestions.
I did a total upgrade of my machine 3 weeks ago - moved from a 4th gen i5 to a 10th gen i7 CPU, quadrupled my RAM upto 32GB and replaced my 128GB SSD with a 1TB NVMe.
I installed Windows 10 on it after setting up and I'd never seen a system so responsive - bootup was so fast that the Windows logo appeared for probably under a second before getting to the desktop, didn't even get to see one spin of the wheel indicator. Also Windows apps started before even showing a splash screen (the logo that UWP apps show), so I was really impressed!
However for the past week I've noticed that boot-up is now taking longer than on my old i5 system. I see the wheel spinning under the Windows logo about 7 or 8 times and also the apps now take longer to load too once in Windows. It's not exactly slow, but it seems to have lost its sharpness that it only had for a week or 2. It can't be a driver thing, as I haven't installed any drivers since the day of setting up.
The system works fine, it's just one of those things that annoys me because I noticed how fast it *can* start and work, but now it's taking longer.
Any ideas? I'm aware this isn't a massive issue like I said, but I love improving start-up times and things like that 😂
Thanks
