    Ultimate Power Setting

I am trying to change the power setting from Ultimate to Balanced and when I hit the Balanced button it changes right back to ultimate. It shuts off my monitor after about 3 or 4 minutes. Yesterday I did a reinstall and was able to remove the Ultimate setting with a warning that I can not restore it.Then I turned on my PC this morning it was set back to ultimate AGAIN. It does not matter what I set the monitor timeout it still shuts down the monitor. A pain in the ass when I'm updating software. I am running Version 1909. Any way to remove Ultimate setting without having to a reinstall again?

How did you do a reinstall? Was it clear install, or mounting the Windows ISO and run setup (In place repair)

How did you enable Ultimate option (probably with powershell script - can you share that script?)

I ran setup and kept all my programs and settings. After setup I could get to remove Ultimate setting. I did not enable Ultimate I removed it. After restart it was back again with no option to remove. It is stuck on Ultimate setting. I can't change it to any other setting.

And how did you get those option in the first place? It is not there by default, so you had to enable it somehow (script usually).

Here are Tutorials to delete Power plans:

Follow option 2, and select GUID for Ultimate

I tried both options. Neither worked. Command prompt: You cannot delete an active power plan. When I tried to change the ultimate power the reset to default is greyed out. I am at a total loss here. I really do not want to do a total clean Windows 10 reinstall if I can help it. Lots of software to redownload and install again

Did you start command prompt as an administrator?
You didn't answer my question. It could help..

Edit. and since windows changes the plan after restart, show us your startup programs (under Task manager select startup tab, and post it like picture).

Yes I ran it as Admin. Settings/ System/ Power and Sleep/ Additional power settings. Here's the startup.

I have no idea what UI9Guard process is. What antimalware, or antivirus do you use. Could be preventing changes.
Could be helpful to run Autoruns and post its report

Oh, and disable that FasStarttBoot. Think it is some MSI utility. If you have SSD it is of no real use..

Edit: I have to go for the night.. Run malwarebytes to check if anything is suspicious, then disable that process and try to change power options.

It was an app called MSI Gaming App. I uninstalled it then was able to switch to Balanced Power. Thank you for all your support. TenForums is the place to go for your questions.
