"StratoWar": I was having this problem, and it was driving me insane; but then I found your solution, and yep, even after 3 1/2 years, it still works! (What a bizarrely-named and deeply-hidden setting! How did you find this, anyway?)

My case. I had a problem stated in the problem's title. Only thing that helped was to create my own power management plan with sleep mode turned off. Any other methods presented here failed.
