    Anti-Virus & Defragging Win 10

Since I'm kinda new to Windows 10 I was wondering if you all have a preference for an Anti Virus?
    Do I need one?
I have Windows Defender on and all the security on.
    Will I need to defrag?
    Thanks!

Defender will serve you well as is. If you would like a standalone scanner as a second option, MalwareBytes is an excellent choice. The paid real-time version also runs friendly and in augmentation with Defender with no adverse effects.

Second part of your question..... do you need to defrag? Obviously tat depends on whether you have an HDD or SSD. Only HDDs get defragged and SSDs get Trimmed. Two totally separate operations which are mutually exclusive. For 99.99999% of the geberal users out there, on Win10, you shouldn't have to worry about either, The system will take care of it. There are hundreds of thread and thousands of pots on the subject here on TF, just search the words DEFRAG or TRIM.

There is a good tutorial here on how to properly fill in your system specs:

System Specs - Fill in at Ten Forums

I mention this before someone else says "fill in your specs".

You do realize that security & defragging are two completely different subjects?

    No, Defender will do.

    No, Windows does it automatically.

Do not we all? I like it light and without any interference, so not as powerful as Defender, but suitable.

A lot more complete, thank you! If in the future anyone has a question, they will ask, but you have all the nuts and bolts.
