Is it safe to share CBS.log from SFC /scannow ? (win10)

    Hi,

    windows 10 Home
    Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042

I'm on an old desktop computer, trying to lovingly restore it, but I've been getting BSODs for years on this machine. probably harware problems.

I ran sfc /scannow and I've got some errors in a 35,000 line CBS.log file I have no idea what to look for, but am concerned about posting in online.

    Thank you.

    Happy Easter

Hello, welcome to Ten Forums and Happy Easter.

If you like, you can use option 5 in the tutorial below to only have the "SFC" results from the CBS.log to make it much smaller.

Run SFC Command in Windows 10

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

There shouldn't be anything confidential in CBS.log, but on its own it's not going to be enough to diagnose a BSoD.

There is a specialist BSoD forum here on Ten Forums where experts can analyse and diagnose your problems. There is also a tool to collect all the data they will need, Read the posting instructions, then post there....

Last month, an administrator removed a script used by the experts there because it collected personal data.
