    Terrible slow shutdown!

I don't have any problem with my PC, but since last windows upgrade (from 20H2 to 21H1) shutdown is too slow. I tried many solutions but nothing helped. How to fix it?

    Hi there
I think a number of us have had performance issues with some of the latest builds of W10.
The only thing I can suggest is to switch off indexing, see if your paging file isn't over allocated -especially on slow and / or nearly full HDD's, ensure you are only running the minimum number of required processes and switch off any sort of "Hibernation" options.

If that fails - perhaps a new install is the only solution.

    Cheers

See adding registry settings with this attached batch script will help close programs that is not responding during shutdown.

    Your shutdown took 66sec
    Services took 5 sec
    kernel took 52sec

    Did you do the basic?
    - Disk check (chkdsk c: /f)
    - System File check (sfc /scannow)
    - Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    - Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If it doesn't help, do a Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

I believe that the build 21h1 is not yet official, and if you are insider it remains a beta.

Finally I found solution. Some updates were running in the background and could not be installed at all. Here's what helped me.
