    Good morning,

Could you please post a list of devices that are connected to the hub and any of the other USB connections?

Have you seen these flagged devices appear before? Also, have you checked that all of the mother board drivers are updated?

Please update your 'My Computer' in the lower left and include all connected devices and the winver.

Sorry, didn't see your reply until now as it was on pg2. lol.

I thought I had specs entered somewhere here. I've just added them. No, I've never had any issues with the card or drivers in the past, always worked fine. With trying to figure it out, I did see a list of updates with Driver Booster, so I updated those and they seem better. They were still coming and going so followed some online guide, but I think the drives are basically always on? Not sure that's a good thing. The drives are quite new...less than 6 months old (but no issues in the past with other windows installs). Never had any flagged devices before in Device Manager (in relation to this).

Connected devices to the USB3 hub:
    2x Seagate 5TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 Portable 2.5
    Logitech webcam
    USB MIDI Keyboard

The weird thing now is, with the tweaks mentioned, they have stabilized. But I have an onboard USB-C port with Seagate a 5TB Backup Plus USB 3.0 Portable 2.5 attached that keeps coming and going now, even though I've tweaked USB settings in the power options as mentioned.

Could it be a bios setting? I've had some power cuts in the neighborhood last August, and since then things have been slowly acting weirder on the computer. Or maybe it did something to the motherboard? I do have surge protection outlets, so not sure. PC itself is from Feb 2016 but I've upgraded parts over time. The last available BIOS update was implemented ~2 years ago. But everything has been running fine until recently.

Sorry this post has morphed onto a slightly different topic from the original question, it's been making me live up to my user name. haha

So, I've left it for a few days, now with the USB settings disabled like this article, I still had my onboard USB-C port hooked to a small external drive, coming and going. I checked my settings again and it's the "turn off hard disk" that seemed to be making it come and go. I can understand it going, but don't know why it was coming back on and off so randomly? As mentioned I've never had this issue in previous installs of windows, and I've always been using the same settings for the past 3+ years at least without issue.

I've set the value to 0 (never), and now it's staying on full-time (which I don't think will do the drive any favours(?).

If anyone has any other solutions or workarounds, I'd love to hear them. Thanks
