Is there any point in paying for Iobit Advanced Systemcare Pro -  

I have been paying for ASC-Pro for several years but beginning to wonder if the automatic maintenance provided in Win 10 does most of the work? ASC hasn't caused me any problems - just annoying being asked to pay for extra features that I believe should be included in the Pro version. e.g. Malware - doesn't Windows defender do this? And Driver Booster aren't they updated by Windows? I have found the Uninstaller good as it cleans every bit of unwanted software. I do also have CCleaner Free and it sometimes finds things that ASC misses? Only run both manually when I feel my PC is getting a bit slow. Only update manually and don't run as startups.
I run an Asus Zenbook UX305 2016 ( has an SSD) - Win 10 version is 1909 10.0.18363 Build 18363- I am told "Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. Once it’s ready for your device, you’ll see the update available on this page."

Iobit is not mentioned often around here and the opinions tend to be unfavorable as I recall.

Many here use NOTHING except Windows Defender for malware and viruses. Some use Malwarebytes or others as a secondary tool.

Most here don't get excited over driver software, with opinions occasionally reaching "snake oil" levels.

CCleaner is still probably the most popular cleaner although it's probably declined a bit in popularity over the last few years. I do use it.....but only very occasionally rather than my previous habitually (near daily). Many rely only on Windows built in "Disk Cleanup" and Storage Sense.

Opinions on uninstallers vary....many use Revo. I have used Revo intermittently but will confess it's never made any noticeable difference or gotten me out of a jam. Some use it because they feel better for having done so, regardless of any noticeable difference. Who doesn't want to feel better?

Ditto for defragmenters and various other tools.............the trend seems to be to use Windows own tools as much as possible.

The clear-cut exception is in the area of backup and imaging methods. The strong trend is AWAY from Windows built-in tools.

I've got multiple computers running Windows 10 since before it was released as RTM and I haven't paid a dime for any maintenance or anti-somethingorother software. In my opinion, you are wasting your $$$.

My computers always update with Windows update and almost never BSOD. I contribute that to just not messing with Windows 10 and letting it run the way Microsoft wants.

I would not have anything by Iobit on my computers, paid or otherwise. Windows Defender has served me well.

I don't know about the current situation but in the past the company has been implicated with unethical business practices. There have been other issues as well. This is a particular concern for suppliers of security software. Trust is easy to lose but very difficult to restore.

There have been many favorable reviews on popular websites. Be careful with reviews on websites supported by advertising. The author of the review usually has no control over advertising and an ad for the product reviewed may appear somewhere on the website or even on the same page. Advertisers are not happy when they see this and start to think they should be advertising elsewhere. For that reason these websites generally do not publish unfavorable reviews. The most you are likely to see is mild criticism in an otherwise favorable review.
