Keyboard and enter key in the Windows search/run dont work suddenly

omen software cannot be accessed now,as enter key will no longer work in the search/run box,and cannot access anything that way anymore suddenly.And also keyboard software issue that has been progressively getting worse,as software was added/installed

installed software:
browsers - a number of them
other softwares
uninstalled norton anti virus some 6 restarts ago approx
no other changes other than that,that is no installation of software
no idea what has happened that the search/run box can no longer access anything via typing and pressing enter button,as enter button no longer works there,but works everywhere else.

my hp omen keyboard software cannot be accessed suddenly from the search/run box, where i normally type in "omen" to open the keyboards software to get the lighting on the keyboard,working which also suddenly stopped lighting up as windows for some other reason no longer started it up, where previously it would only start up the keyboard lighting with a delay after i used the keyboard some and it would suddenly light up,where previous to that it would work from after windows dsesktop was running with a delay and previous to that it used to startup very quickly at startup,.I found that the omen software was not started at startup although it was enabled in the startup apps from ctrl + alt = delete.

That is,starting up the omen software has been progressively getting slower and now it will not run at all as suddenly the enter key will not work in the search/run box any longer,so cannot access anything else via that method anymore

HOW can i fix this without reinstalling windows.It recently reinstalled as other things were going wrong due to numbers of software being installed.Has always been the case where if i install more software,it will affect windows.I used to use "src scannow" which always works to fix problems like this,but am not sure if it will work in windows 10 and on a laptop.I also do not remember the entire text to type.

does anyone know how this can be fixed ?

thanks for the reply.No the searchbox didnt work.But now it has started working again! the laptop was restarted about 5 times since i posted in the forum,and at last check it didnt work but it did just now upon reading your post.Yes it must be as you say some sort of conflict or something has deleted some windows files.But anyhow the laptop is from msi,found the version.

Yes, i am referring to the default search box that is always visible next to the windows logo at the bottom left.I could type in the box previously when i was having the problem but the enter key wouldnt work in there,but the enter key now works again for no reason,but after 5 restarts or so,like i was saying.
How to do i use the src /scannow on a laptop? i used to use it on a desktop with an external cd player with the windows cd in it.Would i need to specify the location of it,if so, how to do that as it is in the recovery partition now.Would it work properly on a laptop?
The version of the hp omen software actually came with the version of windows installed on my laptop.I didnt download it from the internet.Its the "omen gaming hub",which is better than what i could find on the internet and provided much more lighting options.

at an admin command or Powershell prompt.
- performs a limited check of your Windows system files and attempts repair.

Does the same on any Win 10 device. It's only one basic check- there are many others.

yes its like that with different softwares,it either gets worse or it comes and goes as well as just progressively getting worse,im sure it will happen again.My other main appl;ication that i use has a different problem,for awhile it would only be minimised or maximised so that the only way i could see it at all by highlighting the window with my mouse,then right clicking it and choosing to maximise,otherwise i could not see it at all as it was minimised and i also could not see the task bar at the bottom of the window when that particular window was maximised,but suddenly it stopped and returned to normal upon installation of one of the softwares,as it had been installed quite recently prior to opening that application again.So i do not know how to fix this and am contemplating just buying another pc to run the other softwares.My windows pcs have always had strange issues occurring after more software is installed.
