waiting for the machine to boot and yes i will be installing the latest chipset and raid drivers from AMD site.
EDIT: chipset drivers installed fine, RAID driver install failed -
the chipset update did not fix the issue, still takes about 11minutes to boot to the login screen.
should i try making a restore point and renaming/removing the amd_xata.sys driver file(s) i found in device manager:
i cannot seem to find those drivers included in the chipset or raid packages from current amd, they might have been from my old 970 or B450 chipset motherboard
EDIT: renaming the sys files and uninstalling the devices from device manager fixed the issue.

Well doneEDIT: renaming the sys files and uninstalling the devices from device manager fixed the issue.
It seems that you migrated your Windows 10 installation from an old motherboard; that could explain why it kept these old drivers !i cannot seem to find those drivers included in the chipset or raid packages from current amd, they might have been from my old 970 or B450 chipset motherboard
