Windows 10 Logon takes around 40 minutes

    Delete these two files and your boot time should go back to normal:

    That was the cause!

    The folders had like 400.000 files in them for a total of around 2 GB. I was wondering why those temp files were loading during the boot since they are obviously not system relevant.

    Just like to add, I had a 22 minute log in and the trouble was with some kind of %user%/AppData/Local/Temp file.

    My solution was: 1) select all folders and files in the Temp folder; 2) shift-delete; 3) skip over all Admin Required items.

    So whatever was causing it, for whatever reason, got eliminated in the process.

    BTW, Windows' Disk Cleanup did not have the option to remove these kind of temp files which took up 8 GB on my drive. So their upgraded temp file system does not appear to be well-engineered. (And removing these files using File Explorer is an absolute nightmare taking over an hour of nonsense. On Ubuntu, the files would be gone in under a minute.)
