Surely becauseMicrosoft Windows Defender
is a LIVE running Component, it will obviously get bigger in real-time. Maybe a good test would be to have NOTHING running when testing.
Just a thought!
Fabler2, I see Ur using the one built in settings method of cleanup, I use the standard disk cleanup utility, I type disk cleanup in search and run it, can u test this please, as I was able to replicate this on 3 PC's and on discord spoke to 5 people around the world whom can replicate this issue. Can u do me favour, can u run the normal disk cleanup utility, and clean everything including windows defender antivirus, restart the pc and repeat this a few times to see the outcome thank u, I just Wana see if u differ or exactly the same as the others I was able to find. Thank u so much for the help. I appreciate it, if u could run the normal disk cleanup utility and just clean up including windows defender antivirus and restart and do this a few times and see what the results are, I would appreciate it. Thank you

How can you have nothing running? It's a pc there is going to something running at least. Thanks for the reply though
So the same is happening here with you the disk cleanup utility is increasing the size of windows defender antivirus segment, my question is this normal behaviour then? And is not worrying that it will eventually increase to big in size?
Thank u for the test I appreciate it
Thank u, just got worried because it kept increasing in size, but what if u don't clean up and it builds up to a point where it takes a large amount of space or is there some built in feature that stops it increasing at daft sizes.
Thank u for all the help
How much of a problem is this? 23meg usage.
As far as I understand though disk cleanup is now deprecated and storage sense is the replacement. You can try cleanmgr+ which is based on cleanup but is maintained.
