Why not delete the above Partition 1, as the following Partition 5 is the one needed?

It is easy to recreate a recovery partition even if you have deleted it by mistake.
See what the following idiot did last month:
How to recreate the Windows recovery partition.

Just to finish off on this: I deleted partition 1 and then combined all the unallocated space then expanded the C drive to take up all the unallocated space. This was done using Aomei Pro partition software. I had made a full Macrium reflect disc image just in case anything went wrong. Thank you all for your unstinting help. It is much appreciated and I have learnt a lot.

The 'after' screenshot of my partitions is shown below:

    Disk cleanup advice...-disk-part-2.jpg

The Diskparinfo.bat results are shown below.

    Thanks again.

    Disk 0 : SSD. It has 4 partition(s). Model: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 2TB
    Disk 1 : SSD. It has 2 partition(s). Model: SanDisk SSD U110 16GB

The script has found the above 2 storage device(s) in total.

Yes, AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard is excellent for this sort of task.

You have learnt a lot doing this which will hold you in good stead for ANY future problems you might have, but we will all be here if you need us.

I would strongly suggest that you create another System Image now that everything is a s you like it.

    I hope this helps.

expanded the C drive to take up all the unallocated space.
The space shown in the "Free" column below is unallocated space.

Anyway, 1024 KB and 3072 KB count for nothing.

In my case, all the unallocated space is 0 B as shown below:
    Code:
Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
      -------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---

    Nice.

Often the partitions only to the right of the primary partition are deleted.
The unneeded partition on the far left has been left alone.
