I usually clean and optimize my computer before i back it up with aomei backupper, so that i have a clean and well performing backup that i can use to restore it with again. I thought i would see if there's anything im missing, so im going to list...
Today I did windows update. It said it may download 1.2 GB. I updated. But space went down by 3 GB.
I tried using disk clean up in properties of C: drive with system files. It could clean up only 18 mb.

I have tried free and paid software to actually clean up my hard drive but then I go looking around in file explorer and see tons of entries such as windows temp directories chock full of files that add up pretty quickly.
