Disk check when booting to win 10

This computer problem never ends!
Now when booting to win 10 (selecting it from the bios as my boot disk), it does a disk check. Any reason why it would suddenly start doing this?

This typically is a flag indicating problems with the drive file system.

Run Crystal Disk standard edition:
CrystalDiskInfo – Crystal Dew World
Post images into the thread.

If crystal disk is unremarkable then run chkdsk:

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
chkdsk /r /v
This may take hours to run so plan to run overnight.
Run on all drives using the syntax: chkdsk /r /v C: or chkdsk /r /v D: changing the drive letter to the applicable drive.

C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /r /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Type: Y
reboot

Use the information in this link to find the chkdsk report in the event viewer.

The disk is marked as dirty so it will check until the dirt bit is cancelled. When windows starts it writes a dirty bit to the drive and clears it when shutdown properly powering off or a crash will mean it's not cleared

To see if there is a problem with the OS NOT clearing the dirty bit parameter . . .

[1] Press the Win + X keys together and select Command Prompt (Admin).
[2] Highlight the command below.
[3] Press the Ctrl + C keys together.
[4] Right-click inside the Administrator: Command Prompt Window > Paste.
[5] Press Enter.

Code:

chkntfs /x C:

IMPORTANT: If your OS is NOT on drive C:\, then change the drive letter in the code above to the actual OS drive letter.

this command will excludes drive C: from the default boot-time check.
You can also run "chkntfs c:" to see if your drive is marked as dirty and hence be checked at every system boot

I see that information as having 2 drives in a computer with different OS and choosing to change as desired but also not saving the BIOS choice each time, could confuse Windows as to whether a new drive it needs to do the checking of.

When available please update the progress with the steps in post #2.

Running chkdsk /r /v will fix errors and recover readable information.
It can be run overnight.

It clears the dirty bit parameter [ if set ] that is used to run chkdsk. I suggested it just in case there was a problem with it resetting itself after a chkdsk run at boot.

In addition, if dual booting, hibernation should be disabled, which will also disable Windows 10 fast startup. Hibernation and Windows 10 fast startup when dual booting will cause system state mismatches stored in the hiberfil.sys file that cause Windows to think there is a disk error. The command to disable hibernation is:
powercfg -h off
