How to verify Fullscreen Optimizations feature is off?!

    Hello,

i check "disable Fullscreen Optimizations" in combatibility tab, yet i read it is not working from build 1703! I also tried some registry entries. Problem is how do i verify it is off?! From microsoft dev blog: when fullscreen optimizations feature is on, screen flickers in PC games! Which is what is happening, it is only when they are loading. But problem is, that it can mean Fullscreen Optimizations feature is on!

How do i verify this is off and in case it is on how do i turn this off?! Microsoft support doesn't even read what you say...

This feature is terrible and causing lag and fps drops!

In addition to what @Jacee said (which I didn't know and is not present on my OS) you might also want to visit installation directory of executable for which you want to disable FSO.

If you're gamer you definitely need to read this:
    https://devblogs.microsoft.com/direc...optimizations/

Right click executable and under "Compatibility" tab you will find this setting, here is example screenshot:

There is no longer section: Advanced Graphics setting, instead there is Graphics setting only! And there is nothing about fullscreen optimizations!

Yep i have FSEBehavior set to 2. There is also option HonorFSEBehaviorusersetting - doesn't call like that, but it resets to 0, after restart!

Yep i set this in compatibility tab for each program!

I also read there is some key, if you remove path to a game in it, it should disable fullscreen optimizations for that game, don't know if it is true.

I already read that devblog, that's how i know about screen flickering! It all comes to, how do i verify it is off???

How do you know it's not working?

If the setting is checked in compatibility tab then it should work just fine for that game.
If you want to verify whether the setting works or not start your game in windowed mode, if the issue persist the setting works but is not related to your problem.

Which means you need to adjust something else and not FSO.
If you want to disable setting uncheck it.

There is no need for registry unless you want to make troubleshooting harder.

Read this link, it may help you to adjust game:

If not working try to set ambient occlusion:

    I said i don't, that's why i need to verify that!

I read since 1703 build, it doesn't work and read a lot on reddit, that it doesn't work!

Hey, that great idea and all, but i still need to verify somehow it is disabled. Any idea how?

Yeah also flicker isn't problem for me, it is only when games are loading and can be theoretically G-SYNC too, but from that dev blog - i read that it can mean fullscreen optimizations feature is on. That's why i was mentioning it.

EDIT: OH NOOOOO, it doesn't happen when using windowed mode. So Fullscreen Optimizations feature is probably on Tho i forget G-SYNC doesn't work windowed by default have to change that to test it!

That flicker is caused by G-SYNC, i turned that on in windowed mode and now it started!!!

So again i am at point 0, how do i verify it is off?

I'm not sure if I understand you, first you say it's always ON because of windowed mode confirms that, but then you want to verify your own test.

The dev blog also gives instructions on how to report problem with FSO.

Have you tried FSO with G-Sync OFF? In total you have 4 combinations to try out in full screen, if none works most likely it's a bug.

No no no, i said it can be possibly on, i don't know that! I can't test it so, that's why i was asking in the first place, how to verify it is off?

I found out, that flicker is caused by G-SYNC, but i read on that devblog, that it can be also caused by "Fullscreen Optimizations", so that's why i tested it as you said. And it doesn't happen in windowed, when G-SYNC is enabled only at fullscreen! Yet it doesn't prove anything.

The dev blog also gives instructions on how to report problem with FSO.
I don't have even feedback hub installed and this is not feedback, but problem! I don't even know whether, or not it is on/off.

FSO? I already pinpointed G-SYNC as cause of that flicker, but again: problem is i have no way of knowing that "Fullscreen Optimizations" is disabled! As i read on multi-sources that it is bugged and cannot be disabled!

I guess you have also disabled Game Mode, Game Bar and of course VSync.
