The SFC tutorial explains how to extract the SFC results without all the other dross. If you use that and post the SFCDetails.txt file then more useful responses might be possible.

    SFC-DISM - TenForumsTutorials
    - Use Option 3 including its notes about running a DISM command whilst online
    - use Option 5 for the results file

Thank you for the information. When I ran option 5 nothing happened.

    Kenneth,

What is the path to your user Desktop?

    Kenneth,

I have written out a batch file that finds your user Desktop by itself, extracts the SFC results from the CBS log and writes the extracted results into a log file on your Desktop.

    Here it is ExtractSFCResultsIntoDesktopFile.bat

You'll need to right-click on it, select Properties and click in the Unblock checkbox before using it.
Then you can just double-click on it to run it [it does not need any Admin permission to run].

The results will be on your Desktop in a text file called SFCResults.Log

The results file can be read in Notepad and is small enough to be posted here for people to read.

Make sure you are connected to the Internet before running dism and sfc commands.

    Please run:

Tuneup.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

SFCfromFile.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

LOGS.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

It's a simple Command line entry you can copy and paste -

    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > "%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt"

Post sfcdetails.txt that was saved on your Desktop as an attachment...it's pretty small.

There has never been any evidence to back up that suggestion.

The DISM command, however, is a different story & the SFC tutorial already makes clear that, if there are irreparable faults, the DISM command should then be run whilst connected to the internet.

However, he has already run SFC and what we're discussing is extracting its results not doing it again [yet, at least].

    All the best,

And he has already responded on that subject.

You do not need to be connected to the Internet to run SFC. If any files are missing or corrupted, they are replaced from the cached copy located in a compressed folder [ %WinDir%\System32\dllcache ]. You do however need to be connected to the Internet to run DISM.

The best order of the processes to run are . . .

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
    sfc /scannow

    I hope this helps.

Scannow can be ran at boot or in safe mode.

So it can be run without internet access.

    See this tutorial:
