    Desktop will not stay asleep

Since I put a wired mouse in b/c my wireless one failed, the pc won't stay asleep. I since put the wireless one in and after a Logitech driver install the wireless one works. I down loaded the driver from Logitech and set pint -it is a M310 and keyboard is K520 No trouble till wireless mouse acted up. I am again using the wired one since Logitech driver installed and the mouse functioned again. I have wired one aside and am thinking of seeing if that works with sleep but don't see how. I did a Macrium recovery and the second mouse has now gone from device manager where I have been checking and unchecking boxes that put the pc to sleep. I have tried power management and tried defaults. it seems to stay asleep for while then wakes up almost the opposite of what it should do. Do you have a fix for this ? There are so many places to enable or disable sleep it is hard to identify. i have been at it for days now. I am afraid the pc will bun out running all the time and not sleeping.

Sorry for the rambling -how can I get this desktop to awake after x amount of minutes? I have it set to default after all this trying.

Open an elevated (Run as administrator) and run the following commands, one at a time -

Devices set to wake the computer -

    powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

Scheduled tasks set to wake the computer -

    powercfg /waketimers

What woke the computer last -

    powercfg /lastwake

    Post the results.

    C:\Windows\system32>powercfg /devicequery wake_armedIntel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-VHID-compliant mouse

C:\Windows\system32>powercfg /waketimersThere are no active wake timers in the system.

    C:\Windows\system32>powercfg /lastwakeWake History Count - 1Wake History [0] Wake Source Count - 0

    Is this correct?

I ran Logitech M310 and the tool said all Logitech is ok. This is with the wireless mouse in.
I am keeping the wired one aside in case.

Looks like your Ethernet connection is waking the computer.

    Try the following -

Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet > Change adapter options (link on the right-hand side of the window)

Right-click on the Ethernet adapter and select Properties.

Click on the Configure button at the top.

Click on the Power Management tab.

Uncheck the box next to Allow this device to wake the computer.

I noticed that your keyboard is not on the "wake" list...you would usually want to allow the keyboard, and the mouse, to wake the computer.

Right-click on the Start icon and select Device Manager.

Navigate to the Keyboards section, expand it and locate your keyboard (might say something like "HID Keyboard Device").

Right-click on the keyboard entry and select Properties.

Click on the Power Management tab.

Check the box next to Allow this device to wake the computer.

I followed all the steps and reset the ethernet adapter and it worked. I now am reading your notes and have enabled the keyboard to awaken from sleep. I also unchecked the box at network adapter.
Thank you so much for all the work. I truly was stuck :)

May I ask, "I was just told not to put a SSD to sleep-I never heard this. Should I do so?

    Good to hear it's working.

    I've never heard this either.

There were some issues with early SSDs being prone to power failures and faster wear.

Hibernate saves all open files and programs to the drive by writing to hiberfile.sys

Sleep saves all open files and programs in RAM.

Since writing to an SSD is what causes wear, in theory...Sleep would be easier on an SSD than Hibernate.

However, modern-day SSDs are pretty durable, so I wouldn't worry about.
