There are two major delay areas in your boot phases:
1. The first one occurs during the Session init phase, généraly when the OS is initializing and loading drivers. And the culprit is the GUBootStartup driver (GlarySoft - Glary Utilities Startup Manager Tool driver) => uninstall this program and you will gain 49s.
2. the second delay occurs in the Winlogon phase.
One of the causes is that Windows is spending 87s loading your user profile => Create a new user profile and see if it make difference.
I'm not going to go deeper in analysis today, I'll give you more insights tomorrow.
No, a real clean install is not to use the acer recovery partition.
Here a clean install: Clean Install Windows 10
During the clean install erase all partitions except acer recovery partition and data partitions you created. You can install acer software for the recovery partition later.
Your computer is already activated so it will be activated with the existing license, do not enter a key during clean install.
Buy an SSD, spinner drives are not good anymore for the OS. I have gotten 4 SSD, one is NVME. Boots in 15 seconds or less, NVME is up in 3 seconds.
I have been using evo860 and WD Blue.
6 core cpu runs at 3.2ghz on a sata 2 interface with spinner drive, start it and walk away. Come back in a long while.
sata3 is only a little faster with spinner drive.
I read online that files cannot be truly deleted from an SSD as shredding (not deleting) software fails to remove traces of the deleted files from the SSD.
Is this true?
