Fixing Windows 10 with Windows 8.1 Pro DISM commands?

    Hello,

We have a dualboot Win 8.1 Pro/ Win10 where only the first Windows is bootable.
Is it possible to use DISM commands from Windows 8.1 Pro in C:\ in order to manage a Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB installation in another partition?

Supposing Windows 10 is on G:\ (as it is recognized by Win 8.1 when it tries to analyze and repair process that is not successful, unfortunately), are the following commands correct ?

    Dism /Image:G:\ /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    Dism /Image:G:\ /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    Dism /Image:G:\ /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Eventually, if it is preferable to use the original Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB ISO to fix the that installation in G:\, I have the unmounted, original ISO on DVD in Z:\

So which would be the further edited DISM necessary with additional Source / LimitAccess commands, please?

    1) It may be possible to fix the win 10 boot using command line.

    2) Open disk management > by default some columns are compressed > widen each Status and Volume > make sure the contents within the parenthesis are in full view and that none of the characters are cutoff > view disk 0 > widen this row as needed so that all of the characters are in full view > post an image into the thread

    3) Download and install Minitool Partition Wizard > click launch > post an image of the results into this thread

    4) Run:

    a) Tuneup.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

    b) DiskParInfo.bat - Click here to go to the BSOD batch repository to download and run this batch file.

    Hi zbook,

    thank you for your reply.

About 1) -- sure I agree, generally speaking.
However it does not address the 3 questions above and none of them concerns partitions issues.
Anyway I ran a scandisk over the Windows 10 partition and MinitTool Partition Manager says it is fine.

This is not a BSOD case; I can regularly shut the PC off pressing the keyboard Power button when the rotating dots are running.

    Dism /Image:G:\offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:c:\test\mount\windows
you must specify the source (which is usually a mounted Install.wim)

The log collectors collect many files.
We started with 1 and now have approximately 15.

So if you run them the collected files can be scanned.

If possible please post them with steps #1 and #2.

@zbook: not sure why you need all these addtional info about the partitions, number of volumes, etc.
And that Tuneup actually analyses the current Windows OS which in my case is fine and irrelevant to fix the Windows 10 offline on another partition. Also there are personal recognizable data in a different language than English that I do not want to share.
Anyway sfc scannow, scanhealth and restorehealth did not found any integrity issue.

Relevant partitions are the following as per the Disk Management:

Volume ### Let. Label Fs Type Dim. State Info
    --------- --- ----------- ----- ---------- ------- --------- --------
Volume 1 Reserved p NTFS Partition 500 Mb Integre System
Volume 2 G Win10 LTSB NTFS Partition 150 Gb Integre
    Volume 3 C Win8.1 2020 NTFS Partition 72 Gb Integre Boot

C:\ is the current Windows 8.1
G:\ is the offline Windows 10 LTSB
Z:\ is the DVD with Windows 10 LTSB I have burned from original, hash-checked ISO.

    The command:
    C:\Windows\system32>Dism /Get-WimInfo /Wimfile:"Z:\sources\install.wim"
    confirmed the details for Z:\sources\install.wim

    Index: 1
Name: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB
Description: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB
    Dimension: 12,048,082,627 byte

Thank you so much for your reply!!!

    @Kyhi:
So given the above details, I ran the following command with Admin rights on CMD:

    Dism /Image:G:\Offline /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth /Source:wim:Z\sources\install.wim:1

but the result is Error 2: Unable to access to the image...

    Where am I wrong?

    @
    Kyhi

    /Source:wim:Z\sources\install.wim:1

    is not enough?

    Z is burned DVD-ROM

it is clearly mounted. That is not an ISO.

Open administrative command prompt (ACP) and type or copy and paste:

    dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:Z:\sources\install.wim
    dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:Z:\sources\install.esd

When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

The install.esd does not exist; that is why I wrote the above command that way.
Below is the transcription of your Get-WimInfo results in English:

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600](c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved
    C:\Windows\system32>dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:Z:\sources\install.wim

    Version: 6.3.9600.19408
    Details of the image: Z:\sources\install.wim

    Index: 1
Name: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB
Description: Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB
    Dimension: 12,048,082,627 byte

    Operation completed.

    C:\Windows\system32>
    C:\Windows\system32>dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:Z:\sources\install.esd

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 6.3.9600.19408

    Error: 2
Impossible to found the specific file.

The Image Maintenance and Management log file
    distribution is available in C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
    C:\Windows\system32>

    Again, what's wrong with /Source:wim:Z\sources\install.wim:1 ?!
