Slow folder load time

Is there any way to speed up folder load times? I have more than 250 items in the folder and they takes a while to arrange themselves (by date). Anyway to speed this up?

Hi, As you can see I'm using 1903. With a folder of some 144 items- files and folders- with whichever view I choose- re-ordering them takes merely a blink.

a. What sort of files are in the folder?
b. What does your task manager reveal as this is occurring? Try to capture a screenshot.
c. The forum prompted you thus:

d. When did this start? What happened before that?
e. Do you see the same problem in Safe Mode?
