    File Explorer causes icon flicker.

I have a cleanly installed Windows 10 2004 on my machine. Accessing file explorer from a browser (Chrome or Edge) like downloading or uploading a file causes icons on the task bar and desktop to flicker. Does anyone else have this with Win 10 2004?

I see it only once with Firefox 80.0.1, but repeatedly with Legacy Edge. 44.19041.423.0

I did a clean install of 2004 in May.

Thanks. Would this be a bug on the browser side or Windows? Maybe both?

Well it's pretty common for apps to refresh icons.

And so I wasn't surprised to see a single one time only flicker like I do with a new FF session with other apps like Thunderbird, Notepad++ and Audacity.. But this chronic flicker each time maybe be systemic to Chrome browsers.

Is the browser issue linked specifically to Win 10 ver 2004 as far as you know?

    That I don't know.

All my machines are on 2004. Someone running 1909 or 1904 would have to test Edge or Chrome for this repeated flicker with every Explorer call.

As I mentioned this flicker is Explorer refreshing it's icons, something it does on a regular basis but not constantly each time like you're seeing, usually it's so any icon overlays stay current.

I think I saw the icon flicker when another app opened Explorer today. It may be an issue with Explorer/Windows itself. Hopefully it gets fixed in an update...
