Hi Everybody, as I only use my Win10 pc to keep a record of my personal details, I will leave it as it is. I also have a Chromebook which is lightning fast but only use it to read forums and emails.

I did notice there was a large amount of 'System Files' that could be deleted but not sure if I might need some of them in the future.

This my restart time using that script on a Laptop rather similar to yours. Standard 1 TB 5400 rpm laptop HDD also has an optical drive and Optimus dual graphics.

Never had a clean install for 6 years, only Windows version updates to Windows 10 1909.

I'm careful to go thru Windows 10 settings, and also when installing applications. Looking for potential startup items and selecting accordingly. No use of 'system sabotage' methods.

Not so sure about the usefulness of such scripts - compare post #20 a desktops with a load more hardware and higher speed HDDs, even an Nvme M.2 SSD boot drive. Much more extensive UEFI/BIOSes than you get on a Laptop.

Have done a clean install twice since buying laptop in February 2020, it never made any difference.

Then the problem probably lies in your laptop. I have a mere 6 GB of RAM, less than you.

After defragmentation, it takes 84 seconds, nine seconds shorter.
