Has the Windows 10 2004 Defrag/Trim issue been resolved yet?

Hi. I purchased an HP Desktop with an SSD drive (1st SSD drive I've had. I haven't set it up yet as I want to use it as a replacement if my current Desktop fails (it's very healthy right now). I got a good buy on the new pc which had very good reviews so I went for it. (I have done a lot of research on this issue about SSD's being defragged too often when they should actually been trimmed). Is the best workaround to disable scheduled maintenance or disable the Defrag scheduled task? I read that if you run optimize manually from the Defrag tool interface that it will only trim the SSD. Any more info on this will be much appreciated (as always.). I certainly don't want to degrade the life expectancy of the SSD prematurely. Thanks in advance for any replies. Note that I don't really know if version 2004 is installed on the new pc.

Thanks, dalchina. If when I setup my new Desktop with the SSD should it have version 1909 installed on it I will keep that version as long as possible. If not I know how I'll deal with the Defrag/Trim issue. I have an image of the 1909 version for my current Desktop and sometimes consider restoring the 1909 image. Much less issues than 2004 but some issues still. I never updated my Laptop, kept version 1909 . Take care.

Thanks, eLPuSHeR. I have read through that. Was just wondering if anything new since that.

Rich mentioned he saw a thread about it being fixed in tomorrows Cumulative update, don`t hold your breath waiting.

I was given these instructions to fix the issue, have not tried it myself yet. I have always turned Scheduled optimization off, I Defrag/Trim my drives when I want to.

Open Task Scheduler by typing "Task scheduler" in the search box.
    Open Task Scheduler Library
    Open Microsoft
    Open Windows
    Click on Defrag
Click twice on the scheduled task
Click on Triggers - you will notice this tab is empty
Add the defrag task at the time you want it to run
    Select the frequency
    Save
The defrag will then run as you requested.
Be advised, this is NOT the standard default defrag, it is considered bt Microsoft as a customized one, but will use the settings grom the normal defrag window.
This means that is you want to change your defrag settings you should delete the scheduled task from the Triggers tab, go to the default defrag window and change the settings there, then restore the defrag schedule.
    Enjoy
