    perfmon /report no longer works 2004 19041.423

Generate System Diagnostics Report in Windows 10 no longer working in 2004. I have 19041.423 which was Clean Installed on 7/31.

When I run perfmon /report from a Run box I get the window that says Collecting data for 60 seconds, but it never terminates. Has anyone else tried this and does it work or not? I've let it run for over 5 minutes.

    Hi.
Same here. I had a problem with it before on an earlier build of W10, but this is different. It's been running for over three minutes now and still no report. I ran it from powershell. Another bug for the collection?

One example that I know of that will cause it is Sysinternals Process Monitor.

It has to do with the Data Collector Set or one of its dependencies already in use.

Yes, I had that error message when I had the problem before - but usually when the 60 seconds were up. This time it just kept trying to generate the report for minutes on end.

Check the Event Log entry in Microsoft > Windows > Diagnosis-PLA > Operational

I was able to get it to work by doing the following -

Open Performance Monitor and expand Data Collector Sets.

Open Event Trace Sessions and locate NT Kernel Logger.

    Right click and select Stop.

In a Run box, run perfmon /report

When it completes, right-click on NT Kernel Logger and select Start.

I tried that, but no sign of NT Kernel Logger. I'm on w10 Home.

That means NT Kernel Logger is stopped and nothing is currently using it.

Check again and if it's still not listed, you might try running perfmon /report.

Failing that, do a Clean Boot and then try to run it.
