    USB 3.0 flash drive performance

    What is a good USB 3.0 flash driver performance (read/write speed)? I just picked up a pack of 5 USB 3.0 Kexin (no-name) flash drives, and I'm very unhappy with them. They seem extremely slow, not much, if any, better that a USB 2.0 drive. At less than $5 a piece, the price was very good, but performance not so much.

    CrystalDiskMark gave me these numbers but I don't know it they are good or bad.

    I'm about to return them to Amazon and buy a couple (2 or 3) more expensive Sandisk drives that are supposed to have better speeds.

    What do ya'll think? What kind of speeds do you get with your 3.0 flash drives?

    @Ztruker

    Here's a very old Corsair Voyager GT USB 3.0 (Red) plugged into the x570 motherboard directly.

    And for comparison sake, here's a WD Black 1TB 7200rpm HDD.

    And here's a brand new Samsung 860 EVO 500GB (2.5")

    So my brand new USB 3.0 drives really do suck! I will return to Amazon and get better ones.

    That would be my take from this. That Corsair Voyager I have is like 8-10 years old.

    /e This USB stick was one of the very 1st USB 3.0, IIRC. According to the specs, they are MUCH faster now.

    For example...

    They do vary a lot, much more than ordinary disk drives. Off-brand cheapo stuff can be horrendous, as you found.

    I investigated pretty thoroughly 5 years ago and found a 4-fold to 10-plus-fold difference (depending on the specific test) between a Kingston Data Traveler 3.0 and a Sandisk Extreme 3.0.

    At that time the Extreme was among the fastest name brand flash drives. I haven't checked lately.

    Pic below from my own testing at that time:
