ASUS Laptop found with

I might have reported this before and if I have, just pretend I haven't. This morning, I find this laptop left on sleep but with the fans screaming wide open. This happens every few weeks. It can't be brought out of sleep and the only way it can be stopped is holding down on the Power button.
I've done the usual, checked for Malware, done the Chkdsk on reboot, run the scannow & all show nothing. Plus, the machine is clean. But something is making it stick and it has to be using 100% of the CPU to sound like it does. I'm wondering how come it doesn't burst into a ball of flame although the computer doesn't feel warm anywhere.
Has any heard of this happening before? Finally, I guess my question is, is there a wee program that records activity, especially weird activity that might show what is going on? Remember, I'm a novice and if the answer gets too complex, I'm lost before the first syllable is spelled out.

With that in mind I'd say it's shop time. I had a client with an HP Notebook with noisy fan two weeks ago, required replacement and it's not a 'walk in the park', requires disassembly of all but the display panel to get to it. And adding to the issue is the shipping of the replacement part, could have gotten 2-day but spending $30USD shipping cost for a $17 part is a bit much.

Thanks for the reply Berton. The fans are not noisy but they're revved up & the laptop won't come out of sleep. Powering it down, everything will continue on as though normal for weeks and then suddenly & without warning, I'll find it stuck in that wonderful situation. Quite interesting but the laptop is not that old.

I get those symptoms with a ten year old laptop.
- I've tried reinstalling the display driver without effect.
- I have suspected temperature problems but the Motherboard & CPU are generally only a reasonable 60C if noticed beforehand or when I have checked afterwards.
- I've assumed that there is some fundamental non-compatibility with Windows 10 because it would do it on only Windows 10 when I still had a dual-boot Windows 7 to compare it to.
- Because of its age, there are no bios or driver updates available.

Is there, possibly, a Bios update available for your computer?

Thank you Denis for your kind reply. This machine was bought in late 2013, so any Driver updates or BIOS updates are a thing of the past.
I've switched everything from Sleep to Hibernate & I'll see how that works. I'm not sure of the life of these things because every one differs. Maybe with everything shut to 'near off' whatever is causing it to take off while in Sleep Mode will stop. If not, it could possibly explode here on my desk and at the advice of Berton, I'll wind up buying a new one.

I have set mine to hibernate when I will not be using it for a while [or I sometimes turn it off completely] and I no longer use sleep on it.

When I leave it hibernating at night, I remove the power supply so that Windows does not attempt to wake it up behind my back for, for example, updates.
- Windows' inability to automatically wake a computer from hibernation without power connected is not documented but has existed for the five computers I have tested [since at least WinXP if not earlier].
- This limitation does not affect you manually waking it from hibernation whether mains power is available or not.

Because the problem is intermittent & irregular, I am wary of my current conclusions because they might be mere imaginings -
- I think the problem occurs less often if I set the monitor to stay on all the time that I am using the computer, and
- I think the problem occurs less often if I reboot the computer every day.

My problem computer is a 2010 Dell Inspiron 1545 that originally came with Windows 7 on it.

I see no mention of blowing out the dust. It could be something as simple as using some compressed air and cleaning out all the duct build up from all open ports on the laptop.

Today, the System has gone into Hibernate three times. I as a rule, leave this machine on 24/7. I want to see if Hibernate stops it from spinning off into overdrive like letting it go to Sleep.
As to the blowing dust out of the machine, I do that as a rule every couple months.
Thanks for the replies! Any further suggestions, I'm open for advice.

On every device (4) I own, I disable Sleep and Hibernate ... too many threads in too many forums, neither are perfect and sometimes problem solutions appear impossible. Not worth the time and effort.

All devices run 24/7 with no ill effects.
