Add column to folder

    Add column to folder


    Is it possible to add a column to a folder, that can be typed in, like when using a table?

    Hi, do you mean like the Comments column?

    Unfortunately Windows does not support this directly. To do that I had to use an ancient 3rd party tool.

    A 3rd party file manager XYplorer includes columns where you can right click the field corresponding to a folder and amend text. This seems to be independent of file explorer's Comment column.

    Thank you for reply, but I was looking for a free option. That one is £35, no free version.

    Hi, perhaps you misunderstood. I showed you two options. One with Stylefolder and file explorer, and the second by contrast.

    Stylefolder is free. Adds a context menu entry - rt click on the folder.
