Installer folder cleanup. Clean msp & msi patches marked as superseded

Well I've used that command in the past, but not recently.

If you have updated to 2004 after 6/09 (last PT), there will not be a Last Cumulative Update (LCU) until next Patch Tuesday. I believe that's the case.

Ahh, that explains it TC ....I'll keep an eye on it now.

Also, 2004 has given me no issues ...none that brother me anyways.

I cannot test because there's nothing to clean.

Nothing to clean here either, I clean the cache manually.
But it is interesting to see the comparison 1MB vs 368 MB.

That was covered in Steve C's thread and elsewhere. Left to its own devices Windows keeps the three latest CUs in the LCU folder. Disk Clean-up or Dism's StartComponentCleanup removes all but the latest one. It does no harm to empty the LCU folder.

In OldMike65's case, it was empty because he had just done the upgrade to 2004. All Steve said is accurate, all you are saying is accurate, just wanted to clear that one point with part of what you quoted. Was for a totally different reason.

I just tried PatchCleaner again on my desktop PC and two laptops. No orphaned files were found on the desktop PC and laptop having Office 2016. My 2014 Dell laptop still has Office 2010 and PatchCleaner found several gigabytes of orphaned files on that. However on perusal I noted they are all Office 2010 patches. I know from past experience that my Office 2010 installation gets trashed if I remove these files so I left well alone. This begs the question where does Office 2016 and later versions store the update files if at all?
