    Hi all -

Ed Tittle went over some of this in his blog today - take a peek:

Version 2004 Drive Optimization Falsely Shows Never Run – Win10.Guru

    Thanks, Ed.

    The wording has changed.
..Taken together, it would appear that the Optimize and Defragment Drives feature is still not correctly recording the last time a drive has been Optimized.
IMHO, Microsoft has to finally correct this - once and for all!
While they are about it, the could usefully lengthen the space available to display the new wording too....

    That's interesting.

That's because yours isn't turned off. Mine is off, so it includes the extra word 'not' in the sentence (and there isn't quite enough room for it).

Now I never noticed that and now you've pointed it out it's going to irritate me

You think you're irritated, just think how I feel!
All my machines have scheduled defrag turned off and it annoys me intensely

Different strokes I guess, I'm annoyed when an update turns it on. Occasional Trim command, once a month is more than enough and HDD fragmentation is minimal to nothing ever since after XP. If somebody thinks that defrag is necessary, there are much better and faster 3rd party programs for that.

If you like your HDDs .........DONT defrag them anymore , it does more harm then good !
Trim your SSDs once a month , not too often..............
