ThrottleStop 9.2 includes an option so you can access these profiles without having to open a command window.

You can also edit these profiles but that is trickier. You will need to use the powercfg command with the -setacvalueindex or -setdcvalueindex options.

Are you informing us of the power profiles available or is there a question that you would like answered?

Why in hell would MS make us go out of our way to enable those features

By that I mean why aren`t they still there.

My Performance power plan was not missing from Power options when I installed 2004 but it was hidden under the hide additional plans drop down.

There's a lot of places like that in Windows, seems I recall their start of a clean desktop then just keep putting things in less obvious places. I do get the feeling they are trying to protect us from our own foibles, in the end less work in solving issues we create.
