    Windows 10 Pro Memory Limit

    Hello group,

short question, as I am getting contradicting results from various sources: what is the upper memory limit of Windiws 10 Pro ? I am trying to upgrade from Hime to Pro, and I need to run an application that requires memory reservation above 1TB. Is Windows Pro capable of 2TB, or just 512GB ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

I would think your CPU has a limit too.

Actually, I am using an application (Apophysis 7X64) for very large renders, and it wants to allocate let's say 1TB of memory, but the render always terminates. I am thinking it might be because Windows 10 Home only allows a maximum of 128GB to be used. To be honest, I am not sure if Pro solves that problem.

Actually, if you want to know what I am running into, go to:

    Apophysis download | SourceForge.net

and download the program, then run the A7x64 executable file. Then go to Flame --> Render Flame and set the size to something that exceeds your physical memory. The problem is: I have e.g. a PC with 16GB DRAM, but it lets you render file that require more. So the physical memory is not the limit. I am trying to figure out if Windows itself limits the render size...

    Well one thing I notice:

The program says I only have 4 GB memory available, but 26 GB of my 32 GB is really available.

The OP gave a link to Apophysis 2.0, but was talking about Apophysis 7x64.

I think this is the link the OP intended to post: Apophysis 7X download | SourceForge.net

    Which looks a little different...

...and (obviously) fails to allocate 67GB of physical memory on my 4GB machine.
