DCOM 10016 instantly shutting down my PC.

Hi, first of all I must thank you people for taking the time to check my post, and secondly apologize as I know there's a sticky above where an user kindly explains about this error.

But it says that we can safely ignore this issue, which I can't.. as it shuts down my PC instantly everytime.
I've been trying to fix this by doing some registry changes, like giving permission of total control to the subfolders with the IDs that are shown in the error's log, but without any sucess.. it still happens. Worst of all now there's another subfolder with a new ID that didn't show before (as it used to be only one ID that was causing the crash).

I'm desperately needing help here, I'm losing work, and also I must admit I'm losing my mind!

My Windows version is: 1709 OS Compilation 16299.1806.

PS: I know it's an old version, could that be the reason why my PC shuts down? Maybe in a future update Microsoft fixed this?

HI there and welcome to the forum.

You can actually safely ignore this error as I have learnt to do. There are numerous threads on the forum related to this error number so it would be worthwhile checking them.

I would also recommend that you update your Windows version to at least 1909 as 1709 is no longer supported by Microsoft. If you do upgrade, it might be worth considering a clean install with the ISO to see if the error goes away. How old is your current installation? Remember to back up your personal files before doing this.

    Hi, thanks for your reply!

I can't rightly ignore it as it's making my PC shut down instantly. Everytime.

I would suggest that the next course of action would be to update to 1909.
