    What could be the cause of a temporary dead screen


    Hi,

    Win 10 x64 1909

    Sometimes when I use the mouse to press a button or exit a screen, it does not work. It is locked, yet a few minutes later it is fine.

    Have stopped as many background stuff as I can seen.

    What could cause that please?

    Low mouse battery level if battery powered - replace the battery. Or poor wireless connection - ensure an obstruction free parhe between the mouse and receiver. Else it could be a driver problem in which case update to the latest driver.

On my HP laptop, the settings screen comes up, but you can do anything with it, like run backups or check for new updates. Is there a patch that will fix this? Or, gadzooks, do I have to rebuild?
I have restarted the PC, I have signed in and out. The windows icon on the taskbar suddenly has gone dead. It reacts when I hover but nothing happens when clicking normal. Clicking "other button" shows a menu Other buttons on the taskbar works....
