    Slow startup since April update

    Windows 10 Home version 2004
Since installing the large April update start up has become very slow. Takes a while after entering pass code and when it does eventually icons on right side of taskbar are not there and you have to wait for them.

Isn't this just a short term fix as the update will have to be done eventually? Thanks for the suggestion though.

If you are 100% sure, you do not want to go back, do a cleanup, you will not be able to go back to 1909!

Open and Use Disk Cleanup in Windows 10

Or you can try [Batch] Windows Cleanup at own risk (download and run as admin).

    Hi,
In my experience, usually when upgrading to a new version, it's a driver issue that causes the boot delay.
Upgrade all your drivers. Upgrade the BIOS.

    Hi Zine,
Thanks for the advice. Will check drivers. Not prepared to update BIOS appears too risky. BIOS start up time 11 secs which is probably ok as I've only got a Intel i3-7100 processor.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. Unbelievably problem appears to be resolving itself as start up is improving every time I open up.

The Bios has nothing to do with windows start up time.

Once the Bios hands things over to the Operating System, then you can start counting the seconds til Windows reaches the desktop.
