In my experience, Window 10 with 8 GB of RAM typically uses less than 3.

I'm using 2.9 right now, posting this.

You say 7 gigs with just "normal stuff".

You can easily go to Task Manager and see a list of that "normal stuff" ranked in order of RAM usage.

What do you see there---looking at "processes" and then the memory tab?

    What's eating RAM?

You can turn off ALL of that stuff in Startup to see if has any impact.

How many NON-MICROSOFT services do have running?? I have 9.

I'm confused, I posted a picture of my startup menu in the last post. Did it not show? I have hardly anything. Here it is again.will a SSD solve my problems?-untitled-1.gif

I got HD Tune. Here are the results. Share with me if there are extra tests which would be beneficial.

Recall this was asked for a long time back.. results seem significant.
May not be related to high resource use though.

Your first priority now is to make sure you have proper backups- it may already be too late to be able to create a disk image. If you don't already have one, and Windows is damaged, you may end up having to get a new disk and clean install Windows.

Some damage- you probably need to consider replacing it. Post this screenshot (Health tab, as I asked for way back):

Hope you've been using disk imaging as is so, so often recommended here (Macrium Reflect - free-paid) so you won't lost anything should your disk become damaged, unusable, Windows become an unrecoverable mess, fire, theft - assuming safe storage of your backup disk- full backup...

If you were to install a trial version of HD Sentinel, right on its GUI it will give you an assessment of how long your disk might last- if it's indeed still viable.

Also, please, as has been repeatedly asked, post screenshots like this:

But the state of the disk and possible replacement and creating a disk image/backups should be your priority.

    You could try
    https://www.softpedia.com/get/System...Sentinel.shtml

It looks like your files and data will be intact- you could be lucky, with just sectors reallocated, and some early signs of possible failure.

Strongly recommend you start using disk imaging anyway- Macrium Reflect (free-paid) to large enough external disk.
    - a disk image file contains compressed copies of the used parts of the partitions imaged - e.g. all 4 comprising UEFI Win 10.

Then it's back to screenshots of your task manager as above.

Will an image do a complete recovery of a harddrive?

Your link doesn't work. Both mirrors go to hdsentinal.

Hard Disk Sentinel Download (2020 Latest) for Windows 10, 8, 7

I had to do some searching for you.

Your task manager shows nothing significant. What was happening if anything of interest when you took these screenshots?

    Initially you said:
My Disk is often at 100%. When I close Firefox, which I do many times a day, it sits there and takes a while to close, and then after it finally stops running, Disk is at 100% for a while with Service Host: SysMain or System. Will SDD fix this or will it just give it more resources to use to 100%?
Were you referring to this perhaps?

ironfist, from post #22, your disk has a hardware issue that cant be fixed. Your disk is dying.

Your priority should be to save all your data to an external disk.

If you don't have any other HDD to replace the current, you should buy a SSD. A 1T SSD cost the same (US$ 100) of a first line HDD.
With a SSD, your computer will boot in seconds (~20 s) and open programs at a blink of an eye.

Once you have the SSD or HDD to replace the current, DON'T clone the defective HDD to the new drive. You can't trust what you have on the defective HDD. Do a clean install and then restore your data from the backup
