Word Man, my apologies if I came across as "calling you out". I was concerned if there was a credible source that had seen Windows actually defragging SSD's. Just glad to hear that is not the case. Your posts are very helpful and if I came across wrong, my apologies.
I've managed to solve this issue with updating the AHCI driver indeed like some of you suggested.
I've noticed that the controller for AHCI was using default Windows drivers dating back to 2006 I think.. I've googled around and found this really great page: Intel RST/RSTe Drivers (newest: v14.6.0.1029 WHQL/v4.3.0.1198 WHQL)
On the site everything is explained and there is quite a few drivers. I think I've choosen the latest one with IastorA.sys because my chipset is the older ICH10R one. After this TRIM and optimize is not shadowed anymore and everything is working.

I noticed in post #6 that it is supposed to run weekly, but it has not run in 20 days. Mine was the same way, had not run in 19 days but set for weekly. Maybe they actually meant "weakly". Har-de-har. Another MS mystery.
Word Man, I owe you a very big apology. I found the following article, cannot vouch for its accuracy, but makes an interesting read and raises the possibility of Windows 10 actually defragging SSD's under certain specific conditions (shadow copy).I provided that in post # 5 - although you're right to call me out on casually using the word "defrag", that was a mistake on my part - there are other things Windows will do besides trim, I think the term "garbage collection" is applicable. I'll have to refresh myself on the terminology before spouting again.
See "Conclusion" in the referred link. I think, although I read this thoroughly some time back, his use of the phrase "a kind of defragmentation" threw me into the error - mine nonetheless.

Yep, that's the same article I posted a link to in post # 5. It's all good, no worries. It looks like a lot of people are alarmed and concerned that, even though the label has changed on this interface to the more generic "optimize" (I reckon "optimise" in Queen's English), current Windows versions will do a full on files defragmentation, relocation, and disk consolidation as is done for HDDs - I don't think that's the case. Hanselman's article and some others I've read say that it will on occasion do a bit more than simply TRIM an SSD, perhaps only defragging the MFT. Anyways, looks like OP got the mystery resolved and is OK now.
My SSD is made by Intel SSD 520 series 240GB and I turned OFF letting Windows 10 optimize my ssd weeks ago. I just checked and Windows has done nothing to my ssd. I have always used the Intel toolbox to trim my ssd. I have their latest release installed, which always includes latest drivers too. I prefer to use the utility that is made from who made my ssd then allow windows 10 to do anything to my ssd. Just my 2 cents on this issue.
