Those energy efficiency errors, I am guessing it's because I changed the settings to max power? They are just relevant to battery operated stuff.

Excellent posts Paul. Thank you.
I landed here chasing an unusual problem in my laptop (Lenovo P51). I had installed a new larger SSD and reinstalled Win10 with all updates. For some reason, my Device Manager (DM) keeps refreshing periodically and generating audible notifications when laptop is on dock and usually a few minutes after power up. At times, opening settings or Bing browser will trigger the problem. I have not seen this problem when laptop is undocked and connected to the network through wired or wifi ports.
DM does not show problems with any of the devices on the system. However, I replaced the old MS generic drivers with the latest the OEM has for my machine. I thought that USB devices could be causing the problem. I installed them one at a time in the dock. Problem showed up. I used the wired mouse on the laptop only (undocked), there was no problem. Once the system is running, it can run for a while without any issue. At times, simply opening the Bing browser or the Settings can trigger the problem.
I decided to use your FIND_PROBLEM_DEVICE script to eliminate any device I may have missed. The desktop file produced by your script is blank. Does this mean no problem device was found?
I looked in the Event Viewer. It shows entries in Windows Logs/System. Most of the entries are "info", some "warnings" (DistributedCOM; app-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM server with CLSID and APPID). There are a few "Errors" as well. In this scenario, what tool or script I can possibly run that can help me trace the cause of the problem?
My Windows 10 is V:21H1, OS build: 19043.1266, Experience Pack: 120.2212.3920.0
Thanks again.
Hello @FL26A,
Welcome toTenForums
.
Thank you.
Yes, according to the filters that are integrated into the Script, although MS might have implemented some more!
As this is more of aPost Installation
problem because you changed the MS generic drivers, you will be better off starting your OWN thread for this in either theGeneral Support
orDrivers and Hardware
section.
I hope this helps.

I downloaded the above script as "D:\# Matthew's folder\CBS_CSI_Corruption_Summary_TODAY.bat", ran it, and got the following:
Code:'D:\#' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. C:\Windows\system32>
Hello @Matthew Wai,
This has already been addressed in this thread [ and in Post #1 ] about Relocated Desktops and Unusual Characters and Spaces in Folders etc.
Out of the hundreds & hundreds of downloads, you are the ONLY one to have a problem!
