Windows 10 ProfSvc delays boot significantly

    I am running Windows 10 Pro x64 1909, my system is desktop i5-8500 3GHz 16GB RAM 120GB SSD + 3TB HDD for file storage.

For a long time, Windows used to display the login screen in about 20 seconds after powering on my system. However I have noticed in the last few months (even when I was running build 1903) this time period has increased significantly. My system now needs over 2 minutes to display login screen after power on. From the disk LED I see there's lots of disk activity during this period.

To find out what is causing this delay, I enabled detailed messages on startup through group policy. I eventually found that during the booting process, the ProfSvc was the cause for this delay. This screenshot shows the message, which is sitting there for about 1.5 minute with dots spinning and the disk working.

My PC is on my home network, no roaming profiles. It has 3 Microsoft user accounts (1 as administrator, 1 standard user and 1 child account) and one local admin account. If I log using the local admin account, the logon screen comes very fast in the next reboot. However if I log using my microsoft account again, the problem comes up again.

    Have tried the following:
    • Disabling IPv6
    • Disabling all networks entirely
    • Disabling network shares
    • Setting static IP and DNS

    Can anyone help?

I don't quite see why you think disabling any network services should have an effect, I would rather be checking the disk for errors as it seems the service is attempting to read user data from one or more profiles and having issues doing so.
You state that using the "local admin account" the issue doesn't seem to be present, what about the other accounts, "standard" and "child"?
Are you seeing any other issues when using the affected account, specifically file operations, such as searches?

So I found the cause of the problem, I needed to delete all files in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp. There were lots of files, about 50.000 files and 9GB. The system boots much faster now. Thanks!

Thank you very much @bomberb17! I registerd in this forum just to thank you.
I have already spent 2 days figuring out, why my boot time was over 40 seconds.
I tried all the blah blah that the Microsoft Support had to offer with no improvement.
Then I found your post, deleted the temp files and my boot time is back to 3 seconds.
    You made my day!

I also wanted to thank you, you legend, this fixed it immediately as I had about 9 GB as well. Did you or anyone else who had this issue by chance recently upgrade windows 10 home to windows 10 Pro? That seems to be my only recent change, and my screen was always black when this happened, the only reason I saw ProfSvc issue what by using RDP to remote in with my phone and I would see that message.

Ironically Ccleaner would have probably fixed this issue but I rarely run it.
