It's working on my test machines (Surface Pro 3 and Lenovo X380 Yoga) except it's not deleting Windows Defender items (but they're only a small, small portion of my junk files, so that doesn't bother me overmuch). All other deletions -- including Update leftovers -- are confirmed as gone, gone, gone.

Actually that behaviour is the same in 1909 (18363.836). After cleaning up then checking again my 1.43MB for Windows Defender Antivirus was only reduced to 916KB. Like you say, nothing to be bothered about.
